Our first stop was only a few miles down the road at Rogie Falls. You could stop overnight in the car park but this place is on the tourist bus route, we saw two in the time we were there so it is a busy car park. The falls are a good place to see Salmon leaping, alas not for us to today. The best time is July to September after heavy rainfall.
From the falls we made another short hop to the village of Strathpeffer. There are some beautiful large Victorian houses as Strathpeffer was a fashionable spa town. The Old Spa Pump Room has a really interesting dog friendly free museum on the history of the village together with a gift shop.
At the other end of the village is the old railway station that closed in 1951 and is now home to another museum, cafe and gift shops.
Our final stop for a few supplies, including some award winning Haggis was Dingwall.
Our overnight was back where we started, well nearly, Carrbridge village car park with a last night in Scotland dinner at the the excellent Cairn Hotel.
