Day twenty-four and I am writing this update from the car park at Nordkapp, the most northern point of mainland Europe that you can drive to. To get here we have driven over 3500 thousand miles since leaving home. Actually Andy has driven all of the miles and I have navigated.
Today as we travelled north it became quite rugged and we saw lots of this:
Also lots of this:
We saw a few hundred of these:
Not many of these:Oh, and a few more of these:
Ending up at a very windy Nordkapp just as the sun was starting to go down. The guidebook says it is £25 each to get into Nordkapp but the barrier was up so we drove straight in. There are a couple of other campers here but other than that we have the enormous car park to ourselves. The plan is to be away early in the morning to do the hike to the ‘true’ most northern point of mainland Europe, pictured below, so we should be away before anyone arrives.
Overnight – Nordkapp N 71.168466 E 25.779939
Miles walked – 3.5
Miles driven – 251
Weather – Dry but cloudy with the odd sunny spell. Very cold and windy at Nordkapp
