We had spent a couple of weeks touring the highlands of Scotland driving the NC500 and had a fantastic time. You can see all the overnight stopovers we had in the google map below. As we left Scotland it was pouring with rain and it didn’t stop until we hit the Lake District. Thank goodness we didn’t have weather like that for the last two weeks.

To break up our journey home we stopped overnight at Ellers Farm which is a Caravan & Motorhome Club CL site in the village of Caton near Lancaster. This site is a perfect halfway stopover if you are travelling south (or vice versa) as it is not far from the M6 and is walking distance to a great dog-friendly pub, The Station Hotel in Caton where we could toast the end of our holiday.
