Guten abend Deutschland

TDay thirty-seven and we were off early after another very windy night in Hirtshals. It was very strange travelling on fast, flat dual carriageways with lots of other traffic. We passed a few abnormal loads transporting the parts for a new wind turbine, they were the longest loads I had ever seen on a lorry. By the time we stopped for lunch we had passed through Denmark and into Germany, back into the world of wacky races. It is a good job we had a couple of hundred miles in Denmark to get acclimatised to a faster pace before we hit Germany or I think the shock would have been too much. We did go through a few roadworks but thankfully not the long queues or diversions that we had driving north.

We stopped overnight at a dedicated motorhome parking in the town of Wildeshausen not far off the A1. It was a great little spot and for 5€ a night you had a pitch with electricity. There was a wood behind it to stretch doggie legs and a Trimm Dich Pfad for humans. This is a fitness trail to you and me, unfortunately a part of the route was closed off as they were replacing a bridge so Andy and I were unable to complete the whole trail, we were gutted!!

We did manage to spy an Aldi and pick up some dinner, everything seems so cheap, we are still in Norwegian mode.
